Students are enjoying our Daily 5 literacy stations.  These stations include: Read to Self, Read to Someone, Word Work, Listen to Reading, and Work on Writing.


Math

In Math, we are still working on a Geometry unit with topics such as quadrilaterals, symmetry, and measuring angles.  Students should practice multiplication facts daily!

Spelling

Sitton Test:  Thursdays

Core Words:  watch, shell, dry, within, floor

Phonics Skill:  Suffixes- ing, er, est, s, ful, ed

Grammar/Writing

In Grammar, we will finish a unit on Pronouns.  This week we will learn about possessive pronouns and contractions with pronouns.

In writing, students are applying how to use interesting vocabulary and sensory details to create a visual picture in their reader's mind.  We continue to work on persuasive writing.

Indiana History/Science

In Indiana History, we learned about Indiana's involvement in World War I and World War II.  We will also be studying the Civil Rights Movement, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War.

In Science, we learned about how scientists use the scientific method to design experiments in order to draw conclusions.  Next, we will begin Chapter 2- Technology and Design.
